what do i do when my family thinks my gambling addiction is a joke.?

Query by Dessi Adore: what do i do when my family thinks my gambling addiction is a joke.?
When i turned 21 of training course i went the casino for my first time and right after that did not go as well typically. might be as soon as each and every other month. given that my boyfriend also is 21 we went with each other most of the time. so it went from every single other month to each month to every other week to weekly and now occasionally twice a week.! i believe it has turn out to be a addiction. i leave cash for my charges but i blow any extra income i have.! my boyfriend is the exact same. he helps make enjoyable of me when im broke but i will not know how to stop . when i experimented with to tell my mother she stated you require to just pressure your self not to go. i instructed her its not that easy.! she explained i was stupid for blowing my money but i presently know that.! I never know what to do.! they will not consider its that extreme.! I know i want Support i just never have support.! what do i do

my sister is the same, she enjoys heading to the casino and goes each and every week, and spends WAYYYY as well a lot….

just go to rehab, that is where we threw her in.

talk to them. seriously. it’s the best thing. your family is probbaly just in denial and doesn’t want to believe thta their wonderful child has done something wrong and needs help.

ps. there is a gambler’s anonymous sort of rehab group.

    good luck! [:

Find a support group in your area. They have them look it up online

I would bet more money – to MAKE them listen………. and when your broke and being asked questions simply reply :
I tired to tell you guys – but you didnt listen… make it sound really awful and start crying and stuff…………… Then they will probably give you money to help from losing all yours.
I’m not sure – but thats what i would do.

it fun for so its ok. as long as you don’t get out of hand its ok. My friend went to a casino and spent all his money & winnings so he could play as many card games possible.

Just don’t go there with 10,000 and blow it all off because you think your gonna get a million dollars. Casinos have to make money. They will not allow you to make a huge profit.

    1. of all, your mother is part right with the statement “force yourself not to go”

    2. i conclule from this that you have absolutely no will power at all or a
strong personality which would have prevented you from gambling
apparently everything away and left you broke

call 1-877-345-3350 gambling addiction recovery line

personally i think if you gamble twice a week and you can control your bills your ok, that isnt so severe, real gambling addiction can be so severe where they give up they’re life, they’re everything to be able to gamble more and more.

    take it easy ;)

You have too much free time on your hands, get a second job, or volunteer somewhere. You are also not satisfied with home life, and wnat to escape it.
You need a new friend to hang out with, anyone who will not take serious a chat about an issue as severe as this, is no friend. Find someone who cares enough to help create diversions for you to help you work through this. You have successfully started what it takes to stop, simply knowing you need too.
Mall walks, bbqs at a park, things that take time to plan and impliment are great, because they take up time that you cant go somewhere else your trying to avoid.

You need to talk to people with the same problem – there are many different help groups for gambling – each state has a help line.

    Just google gamblers anonymous.

Like any addiction – people, like your family, that aren’t affected directly are not going to understand.

Stop expecting your boyfriend or your mother to take care of your problem and grow the hell up! YOU are an adult, no one is responsible for your gambling addiction or getting out of it but YOU.
